Matchbox ’17 Toyota Landcruiser 78 – 1:64 Die-Cast Off-Road Pickup Truck

Bring rugged off-road character to your collection with the Matchbox ’17 Toyota Landcruiser 78, a miniature model inspired by Toyota’s legendary Land Cruiser family. Known for its tough design and adventure-ready character, the Land Cruiser is a favourite among off-road enthusiasts, expedition travellers, and collectors of utility vehicles. This Matchbox model captures that distinctive personality in a compact and collectible format.

The Matchbox ’17 Toyota Landcruiser 78 features a bold front grille, a boxy cabin, a practical pickup-style rear body, and a raised stance that reflects the vehicle’s rugged appearance. Its design makes it stand out among ordinary passenger cars and modern SUVs. The detailed exterior and recognisable Toyota styling give this miniature a realistic look that appeals to fans of 4x4 vehicles, classic utility trucks, and off-road adventures.

The original Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series is respected worldwide for its durability and ability to handle demanding environments. The 78 Series is associated with troop-carrier body styles, while pickup configurations are generally identified as the 79 Series. Matchbox uses the name Landcruiser 78 for this particular miniature casting, giving collectors a distinctive model to add to their Toyota-themed displays.

The 2025 Matchbox release features a tan body with red side graphics, detailed front and side trim, and a black lower section. In the 2026 release, the model appears in an off-white finish with red graphics as part of the MBX Adventure series. These contrasting designs provide different looks for collectors who enjoy comparing multiple versions of the same casting.

Built in approximately 1:64 scale, the Matchbox Toyota Landcruiser 78 die-cast model fits naturally into collections featuring pickup trucks, off-road vehicles, expedition models, and other realistic Matchbox releases. Its compact size makes it suitable for display on shelves, desks, or in a dedicated die-cast cabinet.

This miniature also offers plenty of inspiration for imaginative play. Children can create outdoor adventures, remote-road journeys, and off-road rescue scenarios using the Landcruiser alongside other toy vehicles. Its rugged styling makes it a natural choice for anyone who enjoys adventure-themed toys.

Whether you are a Toyota enthusiast, a fan of classic 4x4 vehicles, or a dedicated Matchbox collector, the ’17 Toyota Landcruiser 78 is a distinctive addition that celebrates the enduring appeal of Toyota’s rugged utility vehicles.
